Why should I care?

Because most content management systems suck.

There, we said it.

While we think they are great for many situations, for the most part, they try too hard to be everything to everyone, and become nothing to most people. Sure, they have a module that will do X, and if you search around enough, you can hack together some kind of solution that might work. But why must you be an after thought to a bunch of programmers and developers who have some image of a "customer" in their head, and if YOU’RE not happy, then too bad?

We are artists. We created Expanse for us first, because we were tired of trying to hack together bloated, insanely complex, clunky CMS’s, editing config files, and wasting precious creative energy on something we didnt care about.

We were also tired of trying to take blogging software and fitting square pegs into round holes, and continually being ignored by the developers.

We have one very defined target market, and that is people like ourselves: people who think web application software is too much of a pain and who want things to work, to make sense, and to just be simple. People who have very definitive and unique needs for their website, and who understand the relationship and harmony between form and function.
